Maria Marino provides the vivid hues of her day-time landscapes into the evening with her pastel nocturnes. See a lot more of her do the job (both of those day and night time) in our Voices of Knowledge article. We’ve asked some of our most loved artists to exhibit us examples of their night time time paintings and to tell us a minor little bit about their procedures in this series of Nocturne Notes.
Marino shared with us these two illustrations of her exuberant, expressive pastel nocturne paintings. She explained to us that her objective is in “catching the thriller of that distinct time of night”

“In the conclusion, it is about having the viewer to experience
fairly than to fully grasp, to examine alternatively than to study,
and to adore it somewhat than to go it by.”

In our fascination with how the eye sees and then translates the entire world all-around us to our brains, we have discovered it particularly intriguing to research how the eye sees at night. Search for the text “Nocturnes” and “Eyesight” in the lookup bar to read through quite a few fascinating content articles about the science of seeing at evening and the artwork of painting at evening, or, download our ebook, Nocturnes – A Primer on Night time Portray.
